The Sun-Times Charity Trust

For more than 70 years…

The Chicago Sun-Times has been a part of the fabric of Chicago—breaking stories, reporting with integrity and bringing our neighbors the news that matters most. We are the hardest-working paper in America, relentless in our pursuit of the big story and faithfully committed to our community. We are proud to be Chicago’s progressive, independent voice—and we are especially honored to further serve our city through the Sun-Times Charity Trust.

The Sun-Times Charity Trust is the philanthropic arm of the Sun-Times—supporting incredible programs in Chicago, reaching out to those around us and serving our amazing community of readers and friends. All year long, the Charity Trust builds partnerships with community members, local nonprofits and businesses who are passionate about igniting change.

Through our two flagship programs, Letters to Santa and Chicago Reads, we encourage and support Chicagoland students as they learn and grow.

In 2018, Letters to Santa served over 12,000 elementary school students, and in 2019, we are thrilled to launch the brand new Chicago Reads program.
